WEEK OF JAN.30-FEB.3

ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
We begin the week with a Chapter 6 Test. From there we are going to skip up to Chapter 9, Rational Exponents and Equations. The rest of the week will be spent on Rational Expressions, including :1) Simplifying, 2) Adding, 3) Subtracting, 4) Multiplying, and 5) Dividing. Your knowledge of factoring is a must when solving these, especially the multiplication and division types of these problems.

ALGEBRA 1A CP2
The week begins with a continuation of the concept of Slope. The Point-Slope Formula will be introduced and we will work on this all week with a quiz on Friday.

ALGEBRA 1 CP1
Last week we solved Systems of Equations by the the Substitution Method. This week we will solve these equations by the Elimination Method, which includes addition and multiplication. Worksheets will be assigned each day with a quiz either at the end of the week or the beginning of next week.

GEOMETRY HONORS
Last week we worked with radicals in order to prepare for Chapter 7. This week we begin the chapter on Right Triangles and Trigonometry. Section 7-1 talks about the Geometric Mean. We will fill out Graphic Organizers on this concept and apply it to our homework. Section 7-2 reintroduces us to the Pythagorean Theorem and its Converse, which we will also put on a Graphic Organizer. If there is time left in the week, we will begin the section on special right triangles, the 45-45-90 and the 30-60-90. Our next quiz will be sometime next week after we finish Sections 7-1 to 7-3.

WEEK OF JAN. 23-27

ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
The week begins with Section 6-6 being discussed, Analyzing Graphs of Quadratic Funtions. In this section we will learn how to write the Quadratic Function in Vertex Form and then graph it. Then we will finish off the chapter with Section 6-7, Solving and Graphing Quadratic Inequalities. A Chapter Test will occur next week after a thorough review.

ALGEBRA 1A CP2
The week begins with the discussion of Functions and Function Notation. We will spend at least two days on this concept before we move on to the idea of Slope, which we cover both this week and into next week. Our usual weekly quiz will again be on Friday.

ALGEBRA 1 CP1
We ended last week by graphing Systems of Equations. We will continue this Monday and then move on to Solving Systems by the Substitution Method for the remainder of the week with a quiz most likely Friday.

GEOMETRY HONORS
Before we begin Chapter 7 on Right Triangles we will do a unit on Radicals. We will learn how to simplify radicals without the use of a calculator, and work on adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing radicals. We will then have a quiz on this concept before moving into Chapter 7

WEEK OF JAN. 16-20

ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
This week we will learn how to solve Quadratic Equations by the use of the Quadratic Formula and how the Discriminant affects the solutions. Then we will review for a quiz on Sections 6-4 & 6-5 either on Friday or next Monday.

ALGEBRA 1A CP2
The week will be spent graphing equations with two variables (ie. y=2x+3) with worksheets every day. Our usual quiz will be Friday.

ALGEBRA 1 CP1
We begin the week by reviewing Chapter 6 for a Test on Thursday. Then we start Chapter 7, on Systems of Equations.

GEOMETRY HONORS
Tuesday will find us covering Section 6-5, Parts of Similar Triangles. Then we will review the chapter for a Test on Friday.

This is the last week of the term. All makeup work needs to be done by Friday. Report Cards go out next Friday Jan. 27.

WEEK OF JAN. 9-13

ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
We begin the week by reviewing Section 6-1 to 6-3 for a quiz Tuesday. We will do Problem Solving on Wednesday and then go to Section 6-4, Completing the Square for at least two days.

ALGEBRA 1A CP2
We continue with Section 6-2, Equations as Relations, Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday we will do Problem Solving and then review Thursday for our weekly Friday quiz.

ALGEBRA 1 CP1
We begin the week by reviewing Sections 6-4 & 6-5 for a quiz Tuesday. We will do Problem Solving Wednesday, and then go to Section 6-6, Graphing Inequalities with two variables.

GEOMETRY HONORS
We start the week off by reviewing Sections 6-1 to 6-3 for a quiz on Tuesday. We will do Problem Solving on Wednesday and then go to Section 6-4, Parallel Lines and Proportional Parts. We are near the end of the chapter so expect a Test sometime next week.

WEEK OF JAN.2-6

ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
We start off the week by continuing Section 6-1 on graphing Quadratic Functions. Then we will work on solving Quadratic Equations by several methods. First we will graph for solutions. Then we will solve by Factoring, Completing the Square, and the Quadratic Formula. We will spend at least two days on each concept with several quizzes included.

ALGEBRA 1A CP2
We start the new year off by beginning Chapter 6, on Relations and Functions. This week we will concentrate on Relations, including domain and range. Equations as Relations are also included this week with our usual quiz on Friday.

ALGEBRA 1 CP1
We have been working on solving Inequalities and will continue the concept by solving Compound Inequalities, which are two inequalities in the same problem. From there we move on to solving Absolute Value Equations and Inequalities. We will spend at least two days on each concept with a quiz early next week.

GEOMETRY HONORS
We begin the week by discussing Similar Polygons and their properties. You will use the idea of scale factor to set up proportions to find missing values of the polygons. From there we will go on to Similar Triangles and their properties (AA, SSS, and SAS). A quiz is scheduled for early next week.

I hope you all had a restful vacation but now it's time to get back to work. There are only three weeks left in the second term so it is important that you make your best effort now.
