WEEK OF DEC. 17-21
ALGEBRA 1 CP1
We begin the week with a review of Sections 4-4, 4-5, and 4-7 for a quiz Tuesday. Then we start Chapter 5, which deals with the concept of inequalities. The work this week will include solving inequalities by using the four basic operations ( +, -, x, and division) and graphing the solutions. We will continue this further after our Holiday break.
ALGEBRA 1 CP2
This week we will learn how to graph linear relations. We will graph equations such as : 1) 2x + 3y = 6, 2) y=3, 3) x=5, and 4) y=2x - 3 by first making a table and then displaying the points we have chosen on a coordinate graph. Our usual quiz will be Friday.
GEOMETRY HONORS
We continue our work that began Friday in Chapter 6, covering Sections 6-2 & 6-3, Similar Polygons and Triangles. I am planning a quiz for either Thursday or Friday, depending on how quickly you pick up the material. Homework each day this week will be in the form of worksheets.
ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
A quiz is scheduled for Tuesday this week on Sections 5-7 & 5-8, of which we will review Monday. Then I will explain to you how to take the square root of a negative number. Until now you have beeen told that it cannot be done, but through the use of imaginary numbers you will now be able to do so. This will be continued after our Holiday break.
I hope that all of you have a safe and restful Holiday Season and that you enjoy the company of your family and loved ones.

WEEK OF DEC. 10-14
ALGEBRA 1 CP1
We start the week by finishing Section 4-4, on parallel and perpendicular lines, that we began last Friday. From there we will go to Section 4-5 (Scatter Plots) and spend two days on Section 4=7 , Inverse Linear Functions. Expect your next quiz early next week.
ALGEBRA 1 CP2
This week we start Chapter 6. It deals with Funtions and Graphs. In the opening section we will learn what a relation is and introduce you to the domain and the range. Then we will discuss solving equations given several ordered pairs, of which you will decide which fit into the equations. Our usual quiz is Friday.
GEOMETRY HONORS
We have been working in Chapter 5 on Inequalities in Triangles. Monday you will be introduced to the SSS and SAS Theorems for Triangle Inequalities. These theorems are very similar to the ones you learned to prove triangles congruent but are now used in a different capacity. A test is scheduled for Thursday. From there we go to Chapter 6, Proportions and Similarity.
ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
This week we begin Section 5-7 on Rational Exponents. We will take two days to cover this concept before moving on to Section 5-8, Radical Equations. A quiz is scheduled for early next week.

WEEK OF DEC. 3-7
ALGEBRA 1 CP1
We ended last week covering Slope-Intercept form (y=mx+b). This week you will be introduced to the Point-Slope Form. From this form we will be able to write any equation in either Slope-Intercept form or Standard Form. We will spend two days on this concept and have a quiz on Thursday.
ALGEBRA 1 CP2
We continue our work with Percent of Change by working with sales tax and discount, two concepts you see regularly in your lives. Then we will start working with Probability and Odds. Our usual quiz will be Friday.
GEOMETRY HONORS
We start the week off by taking a Test on Chapter 4. We have reviewed for two days and you had the weekend to further prepare. Chapter 5 talks about relationships in triangles. You will learn about such terms as median, angle bisectors, perpendicular bisectors, and altitudes. We will also discuss inequalities in triangles.
ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
We continue our work with Radicals this week. We will cover all operations with radical expressions and a quiz is scheduled for Thursday. Then we will move onto rational exponents.
