WEEK OF MARCH 24-28

ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
The week begins with a quiz on Sections 8-1 & 8-3.  From there we will cover Sections 8-4 and 8-5, Ellipses and Hyperbolas.  the process of completing the square is also used in these two sections as well as the section on Circles.  You will also learn how to graph each of these shapes.

ALGEBRA 1 CP2
We continue our work with radicals this week.  You will be introduced to Addition, subtraction , and multiplication of radicals during the coming week with our usual quiz Friday.

GEOMETRY HONORS
We begin Chapter 10 this week, on Circles.  My plan is to cover the first three sections before your next quiz.  So if all goes to plan, the quiz is scheduled for Friday on 10-1 to 10-3.

ALGEBRA 1 CP1
The week begins by going over Friday's worksheet on Radical Equations and then take a quiz on it while it is still fresh in your head.  The majority of both classes told me that this was an easy concept however I feel that I should do a quick review first.  From ther we will do a quick section on mean, median, mode, and range.  Then we will get into a short unit on probabiltiy and odds.

COUNTING THIS WEEK YOU HAVE TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE THIRD TERM ENDS.  iF YOU OWE ME ANY QUIZZES OR MAKEUP WORK FROM BEING ABSENT YOU MUST GET IT TO ME ASAP!!

WEEK OF MARCH 17-21

ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
We meet as class only twice this week because of MCAS Testing.  Monday we will finish Section 8-3 on Circles and Thursday we will do a review worksheet on 8-1 and 8-3 to prepare for a quiz early next week.  Good luck on your MCAS !!!

ALGEBRA 1 CP2
This week we begin a unit on Radicals.  We will learn how to simplify, add, and subtract Radicals this week.  Our weekly quiz is Friday.  Just a reminder that because of MCAS our classes Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday will be moved to Room 28 in the Science wing.  It's still school as normal for you.

GEOMETRY HONORS
The week begins with Section 8-6, Trapezoids.  These are the only quadrilaterals that are not parallelograms.  We will review Tuesday for a quiz Wednesday on Section 8-4 to 8-6.  Then we are finished with the chapter so I will review Thursday for a Chapter 8 Test on Friday or possibly next Monday.

ALGEBRA 1 CP1
Last week we worked for two days on the Pythagorean Theorem.  Monday will find us reviewing for a quiz Tuesday.  From there we will go to Chapter 12 to cover mean, median, mode, and range, with a chance of covering Standard Deviation.

JUST A REMINDER TO ALL YELLOW TEAM.  MCAS IS THIS WEEK AND YOUR MORNING CLASSES IN YELLOW HALLWAY HAVE BEEN MOVED.  PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CHECK WITH YOUR TEACHERS TO FIND OUT WHERE YOU ARE MOVING TO.

WEEK OF MARCH 10-14

ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
The week starts off with a review of Sections 9-3 to 9-5.  A quiz is scheduled for Tuesday.  Then we begin Chapter 8 on Conics.  Section 8-1 should be familiar to you.  It deals with Midpoint and Distance Formulas.  I will the skip to Section 8-3 and cover Circles for two days.  The next quiz will be on or about next Tuesday.

ALGEBRA 1 CP2
This week I will finish Section 9-7 that I began last week.  We will cover the concepts of Step Functions and Piecewise Functions and their graphs.  Our weekly quiz will be Friday.

ALGEBRA 1 CP1
The week starts with a review of Radicals preparing for a quiz Tuesday.  The rest of the week will spent applying this concept to the Pythagorean Theorem, of which most of you are familiar with.  Knowledge of simplifying radicals is necessary in order to be successful in this section.

GEOMETRY HONORS
We will review Monday for a quiz on Sections 8-1 to 8-3 Tuesday.  Then we will cover rectangles, squares and rhombi, and trapezoids the rest of the week.  Next week we will quiz on Sections 8-4 to 8-6 and then review for a Chapter 8 Test.

WEEK OF MARCH 3-7

ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
We start the week off with a quiz on Sections 7-9, 2-6, and 2-7.  From there we will return to Chapter 9 and cover Sections 9-3 to 9-5.  In these sections you will learn how to graph Rational Functions and you will be introduced to the asymptote.  Section 9-4 deals with direct, inverse, and joint variation, and 9-5 wraps up uor function work with reviewing the different classes of functions.  A quiz is scheduled for next Tuesday March 11, if all goes well.

ALGEBRA 1 CP2
We finish our work this week with the Quadratic Formula by discussing the Discriminant and the types of solutions you will get when you use the Quadratic Formula.  Then I will spend the next few days on special types of functions, Absolute Value, Step Functions, and Piecewise Functions.  Our weekly quiz is still Friday.

GEOMETRY HONORS
This week we begin Chapter 8 on Quadrilaterals.  Section 8-1 covers Angles of Polygons in which you will be able to find the interior angle sum of any polygon given the number of sides.  The rest of the week we will work with parallelograms, their properties and how to test for them.  I have tentatively scheduled a quiz for next Tuesday March 11.

ALGEBRA 1 CP1
This week we will work on a unit dealing with radicals, mainly square roots.  I will show you how to simplify a radical without the use of a calculator.  We will also work on the four operations with radicals, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.  Hopefully we will be able to take a quiz on some of the material by Friday.  If not, I can move it to next week.
