ALGEBRA 2 CP1
We only meet twice this week because of PARCC Testing. We will continue Section 6-6 on writing parabolas in vertex form and then will go on to Section 6-7, Graphing and Solving Quadratic Inequalities. I have scheduled a quiz for early next week (Tuesday) on 6-6 & 6-7.
ALGEBRA 1 CP1
Since we only meet two or three times this week because of PARCC we will spend much of that time working on the Pythagorean Theorem. Next week we will have a quiz on Radical Equations and the Pythagorean Theorem.
GEOMETRY HONORS
We will have a quiz Tuesday on Sections 8-1 to 8-3 and then cover 8-4 and 8-5 this week. These sections cover rectangles, rhombi, and squares and their properties.
ALGEBRA 1 CP2
The week will be spent continuing our work on the Quadratic Formula with a quiz Thursday since there is no school Friday.
THIRD TERM END FRIDAY APRIL 10. YOU MUST MAKE SURE ALL WORK IS MADE UP BY THEN.

WEEK OF MARCH 23 - 27
ALGEBRA 2 CP1
We begin the week by finishing up the Discriminant and then review Sections 6-4 & 6-5 for a Wednesday quiz. Then we will learn how to write Quadratic Functions in Vertex Form (Section 6-6)
ALGEBRA 1 CP1
We continue our work with Radicals this week by learning Division. Then we will spend one day reviewing for a quiz scheduled for Thursday. Friday finds us using the Pythagorean Theorem, an application of Radicals.
GEOMETRY HONORS
Last week we started Chapter 8 on Quadrilaterals and we continue this week with Sections 8-2 & 8-3 Then we will review for a quiz on 8-1 to 8-3 early next week.

WEEK OF MARCH 16-20
ALGEBRA 1 CP1
This week we will finish Completing the Square and then go on to the Quadratic Formula. There will be a quiz early next week and probably some Problem Solving over the weekend.

We begin the week by starting Chapter 10 on Square Roots. We will first learn how to graph Square Root Functions and spend the rest of the week working on the operations with square roots. A quiz is scheduled for early next week.

We will review Chapter 7 for a Test on Thursday. Then we will begin Chapter 8 on Quadrilaterals.

ALSO THE SOPHOMORES ARE TAKING MCAS TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, AND THURSDAY AND WILL BE USING MY ROOM DURING THE FIRST THREE PERIODS. MY PERIOD B AND C CLASSES ARE TO GO TO ROOM 246 UPSTAIRS FOR CLASS.

WEEK OF MARCH 9-13
ALGEBRA 2 CP1
We begin the week by continuing in Section 5-9, Complex Numbers ( a+ bi ). We will learn the four operations with these numbers, which are very similar to the operations with radicals. I have a quiz scheduled on Wednesday for Sections 5-8 & 5-9. From there we will go to Chapter 6 on Quadratic Functions and hopefully get through the first 2 sections by the end of the week.

We begin the week by reviewing for a quiz on Sections 9-4 and 9-5 Tuesday. Wednesday will find us doing a Problem Solving exercise. Then we will go to 9-7 on Special types of functions (Step, absolute value, and piecewise) and learn how to graph them.
GEOMETRY HONORS
We are having a quiz Monday on Sections 7-4 & 7-5 after doing a thorough review in class Friday. From there we will go to Sections 7-6 & 7-7, Law of Sines and Law of Cosines before we finish the chapter. A major Chapter Test is planned for early next week.

We finish off Factoring by covering the Difference of two squares Monday. Then we will go back to Section 7-5 and work on Exponential Functions and their graphs. Wednesday will find us doing a Problem Solving exercise. Our weekly quiz will be Friday.
