WEEK OF APRIL 30 - May 4

ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
We will be working on Parabolas most of the week.  You will learn such terms as a directrix and latus rectum.  You will have a quiz Friday.

ALGEBRA 1A CP2
We will begin Chapter 9 on Polynomials this week.  You will learn ascending and descending order and will be able to add and subtract polynomials.  Our usual quiz will be Friday.

ALGEBRA 1 CP1
The week starts off with a review of the Quadratic Formula  for a quiz Tuesday.  Then we will begin a unit on Radicals.  Topics to be covered this week are simplifying and adding/subtracting of radicals.

GEOMETRY HONORS
We will finish off the chapter with Section 10-8, Equations of Circles.  Then we will review the chapter for a Test Wednesday.  From ther we go into Chapter 11 on Areas of Polygons.

WEEK OF APRIL 23-27

ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
The week begins by finishing up ellipses.  Then we will cover Section 8-5 on Hyperbolas for two days, review and then have a quiz Friday on Ellipses and Hyperbolas.  Next week will be spent on Parabolas.

ALGEBRA 1A CP2
This week we will start off by discussing Scientific Notation.  This should be fairly easy since this has been covered several times in the last few years in your Science classes.  Then we will work on Square Roots and their estimation.  We will then apply that concept to the Pythagorean Theorem for at least two days.  Our weekly quiz will be Friday.

ALGEBRA 1 CP1
I have a Chapter Test scheduled for Wednesday so we will review on Monday and Tuesday.  This chapter on Factoring is one of the most important chapters you will study this year and its applications will appear in the next two years in Geometry and Algebra 2.  From there we will will cover the Quadratic Formula and its applications.

GEOMETRY HONORS
We begin the week by covering Section 10-6, Secants, Tangents, and Angle Measures.  On Tuesday we will do the Large Circle Worksheet and then review Sections 10-4 to 10-6 for a quiz Thursday.  Friday will be spent introducing Section 10-7, Special Segments in a Circle.

WEEK OF APRIL 9-13

ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
The week begins with a review of Sections 8-1 & 8-3 for a quiz Tuesday. The rest 0f the week will spent in Section 8-4, Ellipses. In this section you will learn terms such as foci, and major/minor axes, and how to graph this conic.

ALGEBRA 1A CP2
Last week we were working with exponents and will continue the concept this week with negative exponents. We will also cover Scientific Notation, which is an application of negative exponents. Our weekly quiz will be Friday.

ALGEBRA 1 CP1
We have been factoring for the last 2-3 weeks and will continue this week with Factoring Completely. This concept involves looking for the GCF first and then factor the remaining binomial or trinomial. We will also cover the Difference of Two Squares and will then be finished with the chapter. A Chapter Test is looming at the end of the week or after vacation.

GEOMETRY HONORS
The week begins with a quiz on Sections 10-1 to 10-3. The rest of the week will be spent in Sections 10-4 & 10-5, Inscribed Angles and Tangents.

WEEK OF APRIL 2-6

ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
The week starts off with a quiz on Sections 10-4 to 10-6 on Logarithms. From there we will go back to Chapter 8 on Conics. These are shapes formed when a circle is intersected by a plane at different angles. We will learn about circles, ellipses, hyperbolas, and parabolas. We will have a quiz after finishing Section 10-3

ALGEBRA 1A CP2
Last week we worked with powers and exponents. This week we will continue this by learning about multiplying and dividing variables with exponents. Since there is no school Friday, we will have our quiz Thursday.

ALGEBRA 1 CP1
We continue our work with Factoring Trinomials. This week we will concentrate on trinomials that that have a coefficient greater than one on the first term. A method called "Magic Number" will be introduced. It is the easiest way I know to factor these trinomials, as long as you learn the process. We will have a quiz Thursday on this.

GEOMETRY HONORS
This week we begin Chapter 10 on Circles. We will learn about the parts of a circle and then go on to Arcs, Central Angles, and Chords. We will have a quiz early next week.
