WEEK OF NOV. 26-30

ALGEBRA 1 CP1
We begin the week by reviewing Chapter 3 for a Test.  The test will start Wednesday and carry over into Thursday.  Then we will start Chapter 4 on Equations of Linear Functions.

ALGEBRA 1 CP2
The week will be spent working on the Percent Proportion and Equation.  The quiz Friday will also include proportion word problems from last week.

GEOMETRY HONORS
We continue our work with Congruent Triangle proofs.  This week I will concentrate on Right Triangle proofs and the CPCTC concept.  From there we will go to Section 4-6 on Isosceles Triangles.

ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
This week we finish off our unit on Factoring.  Your test is scheduled for Thursday.  Then we will begin work on Radicals.

WEEK OF NOV. 19-23

ALGEBRA 1 CP1
Because of the short week we will be working on just Section 3-5 on Arithmetic Sequences with worksheets for homework on Monday and Tuesday.

ALGEBRA 1 CP2
We continue our work this week with proportions by solving word problems with proportions.

GEOMETRY HONORS
This week will be spent doing congruent triangle proofs using the SSS, SAS, ASA, and AAS Theorems.

ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
This week we will begin a packet on Factoring (Section 5-4) and continue this next week.

I hope all of you have a great Thanksgiving.  Starting next week we have four solid weeks of school until our next break so it is important to stay consistent wiyh your work habits.  Enjoy!

WEEK OF NOV. 12-16

ALGEBRA 1 CP1
We will spend two days this week on Section 3-4, Direct Variation.  In this section we will learn how to use the equation y=kx to solve these problems.
A quiz is scheduled for Friday on Sections 3-1, 3-1, and 3-4.  I will be after school Wednesday for extra help.  Unfortunately I have to attend a Math Department meeting Thursday after school so Wednesday is your best chance for help.

ALGEBRA 1 CP2
We will be spending the entire week working on solving proportions with our usual quiz on Friday.  Next week we will apply some word problems to this concept.

GEOMETRY HONORS
We have quiz scheduled for Wednesday this week.  You were told about this last week.  It covers Sections 4-1 & 4-2, Classifying Triangles and Angles of Triangles.
From ther we will begin to prove that triangles are congruent using the four theorems SSS, SAS, ASA, and AAS.  I will be concentrating on doing Proofs during this time.

ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
Last Friday I began a section on polynomials and their operations.  We covered Addition, Subtraction, and Multiplication in all forms.  I will then cover Section 5-3, Division of Polynomials.  In this section you will learn the Long Division process and Synthetic Divsion.  A quiz on Sections 5-1 to 5-3 is scheduled for Friday.

WEEK OF NOV. 5-9

ALGEBRA 1 CP1
This week we will work on graphing equations in Standard Form.  You will be introduced to the x and y intercepts and will use these in the graphing process.
You will also be given a Problem Solving assignment and a Writing assignment this week to close out the term.

ALGEBRA 1 CP2
The week will be spent solving equations with variables on both sides, a continuation of last week.  I will also introduce the Distributive Property into the mix.  Our weekly quiz will still be Friday,  but this grade will go onto the Second Term.
You will also be given a Problem Solving assignment  and a Writing assignment to do this week.

GEOMETRY HONORS
We start Chapter 4 on Congruent Triangles this week.  We will cover Sections 4-1 & 4-2, classifying triangles by sides and angles, and the Angle Sum Theorem.  You will also learn about exterior angles of a triangle and its remote interior angles.
On top of this you will have a Problem Solving assignment and a writng assignment this week before the term ends.

ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
The week begins with Test on Chapter 3.  From ther we will jump up to Chapter 5 on Polynomials.  This is the longest chapter we do this year and will spend several weeks on it.
You will also be given a Problem Solving assignment and a Writing assignment to do this week before the term end.

It is important that you make up any work owed to me before the end of the week.  This includes corrections on any Chapter Tests you have just taken.
