WEEK OF JAN. 28- FEB. 1

ALGEBRA 1 CP1
This week we begin Chapter 6, Systems of Equations and Inequalities.  We start with Graphing a system of equations and look to see if the lines intersect, are parallel, or are the same line.  The we will work on the conept of Substitution with a quiz at the end of the week

ALGEBRA 1 CP2
We will finish up Slope-Intercept, which we started last week, and then begin graphing linear equations by introducing the x and y intercepts.  Our weekly quiz will be Friday.

GEOMETRY HONORS
We will be covering Special Right Triangles this week.  They consist of the 45-45-90 and 30-60-90 Right Triangles.  The students will fill out a Graphic Organizer in class to help them as they solvr problems this week.  However they cannot use it in the quiz, which is scheduled for Thursday.
Then we will begin work with Trigonometry.  The class has been reminded several times over the past two weeks to get a scientific calculator.

ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
We will finish up the Quadratic Formula and the Dioscriminant for a quiz Tuesday.  Thren we will learn how to write a quadratic function (parabola) in vertex form.  From there we will be graphing and solving Quadratic Inequalities, which will then finish the chapter.  A Chapter Test is scheduled for next week and the we will move up to Chapter 9, Rational Expressions.

WEEK OF JAN. 14-18

ALGEBRA 1 CP1
We start the week off with a review of Sections 5-4 & 5-5 for a quiz Tuesday.  Homework Tuesday will be a Problem Solving assignment, which is 10 % of your term grade.  It will be due the next day.  Then we will go to Section 5-6, Graphing Inequalities with Two Variables.  You have already done equations with two variables so there is not much of a diifference here.  When we finish this section we will begin a review of Chapter 5 to prepare for a Chapter Test next week.

ALGEBRA 1 CP2
This week will spent on learning the Point-Slope Form of Equations.  Last week we covered the concept of slope so this is just an application of it.  There will be a Problem Solving assignment Tuesday night, which is 10% of your term grade.  It will be due Wednesday.. Our weekly quiz will be Friday as usual.

GEOMETRY HONORS
Last week I began a unit on Radicals and their operations.  We will do a review worksheet Monday to prepare for a quiz Tuesday.  A Problem Solving assignment will be given as homework for Tuesday, due Wednesday.  Then we will be able to start Chapter 7 on Right TrianglesWednesday.

ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
We will have a quiz Tuesday covering Sections 6-1 to 6-3, solving and graphing Quadratic Functions and Equations.  From ther we will learn how to Complete the Square, another method for solving Quadratic Equations.  This concept will also be used in Chapter 8 when we work with Conic Sections.

WEEK OF JAN. 7-11

ALGEBRA 1 CP1
We begin the week with a quiz on Section 5-1 to 5-3 after a thorough review Friday.  From there we will cover Sections 5-4 and 5-5, on Compound Inequalities and Absolute Value Inequalities.

ALGEBRA 1CP2
The week will be spent dealing with the concept of Slope.  Given two points, find the slope of the line through these points.  From there we will go into writing equations in the point-slope form and the slope-intercept form.  Our weekly quiz will be Friday.

GEOMETRY HONORS
The class did a Chapter 6 Review sheet Friday to prepare for a Test Tuesday.  Then we will work on a Unit on Radicals before we begin Chapter 7.  You need to know how to work with radicals before we can start the next chapter.

ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
We are continuing our work with Section 6-1, graphing quadratic functions.  The plan for this week is to cover Sections 6-2 and 6-3, solving Quadratic Equations by graphing and factoring with a quiz scheduled for early next week.

WEEK OF JAN. 2-5

ALGEBRA 1 CP1
Before our vacation we were working on solving one-step inequalities.  This week will be spent on multi-step inequalities, which are very similar to multi-step equations.  We will have a quiz on this next Monday.

ALGEBRA 1 CP2
Before vacation we learned what a relation was.  This week we continue with a special type of relation called a function.  We will determine if a relation or graph of a relation is a function and do some work with function notation f(x).  Our weekly quiz is still Friday.

GEOMETRY HONORS
This week we will work on Sections 6-4 & 6-5, which deal with proportional parts of similar triangles.  This takes us to the end of Chapter 6.  We will review Friday, go over it Monday, and have our Test Tuesday.
Before we begin Chapter 7 on Right Triangles we will do a unit on Radicals. We will learn how to simplify radicals and perform all the basic operations that are necessary in order to precede to the next chapter.

ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
The week begins with a review of Section 5-9, Imaginary and Complex Numbers, for a quiz Thursday.  Then we begin Chapter 6, Graphing Quadratic Functions, which are basically a type of parabola.
