WEEK OF OCT.31-NOV.4
ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
We are having a Test Tuesday on Chapter 3. Monday was spent as a review day and I was after school for help yesterday. We will then begin work in Chapter 5 on Polynomials. The most important section is the one on Factoring, 5-4, but you will be reintroduced to the concepts of Monomials and their operations, as well as polynomials.
ALGEBRA 1A CP2
This week will be spent solving multi-step equations, as well as equations with variables on both sides. This is one of the most important concepts of Algebra 1 and needs to be covered thoroughly, so we will spend extra time on it. We have our usual quiz on Friday, but since the term ends Friday, the grades will go on the second term.
ALGEBRA 1 CP1
We ended last week discussing the Coordinate Plane and the plotting of points on a graph. The class was very comfortable with this concept because you have worked on this for the past 3-4 years. From there we will cover the concept of Transformations and the different types (reflection, translation, dilation, and rotation), and how they are drawn on a coordinate graph. From there you will be introduced to relations and functions. If we have any type of quiz this week it will go on the second term because grades close Friday.
GEOMETRY HONORS
Last week we started discussing Point-Slope and Slope-Intercept forms of equations of lines. Yesterday we finished these concepts with a worksheet for homework. From there we will talk about the rules used to prove that lines are parallel given that they are not parallel to start off. Then we will finish off the chapter by finding the distance between two parallel lines. Expect a Chapter Test sometime next week
