WEEK OF SEPT.24-28

ALGEBRA1 CP1
We begin the week with a review of Sections 1-1 to 1-4 to prepare for a quiz tomorrow.  From there we will work on solving simple equations with replacement sets and then move on to relations and functions.  You will have homework both in your text and worksheets.

ALGEBRA 1 CP2
We continue our work in Chapter 2 this week.  We start by reviewing the coordinate plane, ordered pairs, and quadrants.  Then we will spend at least 2 days adding integers, stressing the use of a calculator.  We will have our weekly quiz Friday.

GEOMETRY HONORS
We begin the week by doing a final review of Chapter 1 in order to test on Tuesday.  The practice test you did on Friday will be discussed in detail with further review to follow.  Then we begin Chapter 2 on Reasoning and Proof , in which we learn about Logic and Conditional Statements.   Most of our postulates and theorems are in the form of conditional statements, otherwise known as "if-then" statements.  This chapter will also introduce you the formal two-column proof, which tends to frustrate many freshmen at first, but most of you will pick it up in time.

ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
The week begins with Section 2-4, Writing Linear Equations.  The concepts of Point-Slope and Slope-Intercept will be introduced.  A quiz on Sections 2-1 to 2-4 is scheduled for Thursday.

WEEK OF SEPT. 10-14

ALGEBRA 1 CP1
This week we will continue with our work in Pre-Chapter 0 by covering Sections 0-2 through 0-5.  This consists of learning the Number Propeties (ie. Natural, Whole, Integers, etc.)  and then working with operations of Integers and Rational Numbers.  I will also show how your scientific calculator can help you in solving problems with fractions.  Our first quiz will be on Friday covering Sections 0-1 to 0-5.

ALGEBRA 1 CP2
We continue our work with expressions and equations this week and then go on to Order Of Operations (PEMDAS).  Your Summer Reading will be evaluated starting Tuesday.  It shouldn't take more than a period because of our class size and then we will move back to our classwork.  Your first quiz will be Friday.  It will cover Sections 1-1 and 1-2.  Next week we learn some Algebra Properties and do some problem solving.

GEOMETRY HONORS
We start the week by covering Sections 1-2 and 1-3.  Concepts such as Congruence, Betweeness, and the Distance/Midpoint Formulas will be covered.  I am planning your first quiz for Wednesday or Thursady on 1-1 to 1-3.  Then we will begin work on Angles, their measures, and their relationships.
