WEEK OF SEPT.24-28
ALGEBRA1 CP1
We begin the week with a review of Sections 1-1 to 1-4 to prepare for a quiz tomorrow. From there we will work on solving simple equations with replacement sets and then move on to relations and functions. You will have homework both in your text and worksheets.
ALGEBRA 1 CP2
We continue our work in Chapter 2 this week. We start by reviewing the coordinate plane, ordered pairs, and quadrants. Then we will spend at least 2 days adding integers, stressing the use of a calculator. We will have our weekly quiz Friday.
GEOMETRY HONORS
We begin the week by doing a final review of Chapter 1 in order to test on Tuesday. The practice test you did on Friday will be discussed in detail with further review to follow. Then we begin Chapter 2 on Reasoning and Proof , in which we learn about Logic and Conditional Statements. Most of our postulates and theorems are in the form of conditional statements, otherwise known as "if-then" statements. This chapter will also introduce you the formal two-column proof, which tends to frustrate many freshmen at first, but most of you will pick it up in time.
ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
The week begins with Section 2-4, Writing Linear Equations. The concepts of Point-Slope and Slope-Intercept will be introduced. A quiz on Sections 2-1 to 2-4 is scheduled for Thursday.
