WEEK OF OCT. 29- NOV. 2
ALGEBRA 1 CP1
Because of the shortened week, we will do a Practice Chapter 2 Test in class to finish for homework Wednesday. This is to prepare you for the Chapter Test on Friday. Next week we will begin Chapter 3 on Linear Equations and Functions.
ALGEBRA 1 CP2
Our week is short this week so my plan is to work on solving equations that are mult-step and those that contain variables on both sides. We will still have our weekly quiz Friday, but it may contain more review questions than usual. Next week we will finish up Chapter 4 by solving equations using grouping symbols. aka the Distributive Property, which you already know. Chapter 5 will introduce us to Ratio & Proportion, Percent, and Probability/Odds.
GEOMETRY HONORS
The shortened week will give us just enough time to review and test on Chapter 3. We will do a Practice Test Wednesday, wrap it up Thurday, and test on Friday. Next week we begin Chapter 4 on Congruent Triangles. In this chapter we will review the classification of triangles by sides and angles, discuss Isosceles Triangles, and learn the Theorems used in proving that triangles are congruent. We will do extensive work with Proofs in this chapter.
ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
The week will begin with a Chapter 3 Practice Review Worksheet. Wednesday and Thursday will be spennt covering the concepts from Chapter 3 so that we can have a Chapter Test Friday. From there we will jump up to Chapter 5, Polynomials. It is probably the longest chapter in our text and we will spend some quality time here, especially on the concept of Factoring.
After this week we have only one more week before the First Term is over. There is still plenty of time for anyone that owes me missing work to get it done and turned in to me. The term has absolutely flown by and the beginning of the next term has several days off and holidays. So now is NOT the time to ease up. STAY FOCUSED.

WEEK OF OCT.22-26
ALGEBRA 1 CP1
We start the week off by continuing with Section 2-6, Ratios and Proportions. Tuesday and Wednesday will be spent on Section 2-7, Percent of Change. This section introduces you to real-life applications of ratios and proportions in the form of sales tax and discounts. We will review Sections 2-5 to 2-7 for a quiz Friday.
ALGEBRA 1 CP2
The week will be spent solving equations using rational numbers. Calculators will be used to solve these problems because you now know how to use the fraction button. Our weekly quiz will be on Friday.
GEOMETRY HONORS
We begin the week reviewing for a quiz Tuesday on Sections 3-1 to 3-3. Then we will cover Section 3-4, Equations of Lines, and 3-5 Proving Lines Parallel with worksheets as homework. This will bring us to the end of Chapter 3, which means a Test sometime next week. More info to come...
ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
We will spend most of the week solving systems of equations with three variables. Most of you have never done these type of problems, it doesn't usually get covered in an Alg. 1 class, so we will spend at least 3 days on this section with a Word Problem thrown in. We will have a Quiz when we finish Section 3-5.

WEEK OF OCT. 15-19
ALGEBRA 1 CP1
The week begins with a review of solving equations with variables on both sides. We have been working on this concept for three days now and you will have a quiz on Tuesday. Besides that I am introducing you to Problem Solving using the 4Step Method; Explore, Plan, Solve, and Check. Aproblem will be assigned Monday and due on Tuesday.
From there we will spend at least two days on Section 2-5, Absolute Value Equations, before we move on to Ratios and Proportions.
ALGEBRA 1 CP2
We start the week by doing some Problem Solving using the 4 Step Method mentioned above. A problem will be assigned for your homework Monday. Then we will be working on Section 3-7, Equations with Absolute Value. Our weekly quiz will on Friday, as usual.
GEOMETRY HONORS
We begin the week with Problem Solving. Most of you had this concept last year but it will be explained in class so that there are no misunderstandings. From there we begin Chapter 3, Parallel and Perpendicular Lines. Your next quiz will come after Section 3-3, which will be next week.
ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
We begin the week with a review of Sections 3-1 & 3-2 on Systems of Equations in order to have a quiz Tuesday. Homework on Monday will be your First Problem Solving assignment. We will then get into Section 3-3, solving systems of Inequalities by Graphing, before going to Section 3-4, Linear Programming.
Remember that you are taking the PSATs Wednesday during Period A-D in Red and Yellow Hallways. Good Luck!

This week we begin Rational Numbers. We will use scientific calculators to aid in the daily operations which will save time for everyone. The topics of mean, median, mode and range will also be covered. I am sure that most of you are very familiar with these ideas and we should be able to move through this quickly.
GEOMETRY HONORS
We continue our work with Chapter 2, beginning the concept of a Formal Two-Column Proof. This will be introduced in the form of an algebraic equation and then we will move on to paragraph proofs. A Quiz on Sections 2-1 to 2-6 is scheduled for Thursday.
