ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
This week we will finish up our work with Matrices by covering determinants. We will learn two methods to solve a 3X3 matrix by using expansion by minors and by diagonals. There will be a quiz beginning Wednesday and going into Thursday because of the shortened day Wednesday. From there we will begin Chapter 5 on Polnomials and Factoring. This is probably the longest chapter we will see this year, especially the sectio on Factoring(5-A).
ALGEBRA 1 CP2
My plan this week is to finish multiplying Monomials and then go to Division of Monomials. In this section you will be introduced to negative exponents. Our weekly quiz is still Friday.
ALGEBRA 1CP1
We begin the week by reviewing Sections 7-1 & 7-2 for a quiz on Wednesday or Thursday. From there we will work on Section 7-3, Rational Exponents, for at least two days before we go to Scientific Notation in Section 7-4. We will have a quiz when we finish 7-4.
GEOMETRY HONORS
You are scheduled to take a Chapter 3 Test on Tuesday. We will then begin Chapter 4 on Triangles. In this chapter you will learn how to classify triangles by sides and angles, the angle sum of a triangle, exterior angles of a triangles, and proving that triangles are congruent. We will spend at least two days working on Proofs. You will have your next quiz when we finish Section 4-2.

WEEK OF OCT.21-25
ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
This week we begin Chapter 4 on Matrices. We will learn what a matrix is, how to read one, and what they are used for in real life. We will also add, subtract, and multiply matrices this week, with a quiz early next week.
ALGEBRA 1 CP2
We have already graphed inequalities with two variables this year so we will take this concept a step further by graphing systems of inequalities. We will shade two lines on the same graph and look for an area of intersection ( or not). Wednesday will also find us working on our second Problem Solving for the term. Our weekly quiz will on Friday as usual.
GEOMETRY HONORS
This week we will finish up Chapter 3 by covering Sections 3-4 to 3-6. We will work on writing equations of lines using Slope-Intercept and Point-Slope, and Proving that two lines are parallel. A Chapter 3 Test will be given early next week.

We have already graphed inequalities with two variables so now we will graph two inequalities on the same graph and look for the area of intersection ( or not). Wednesday will find us working on our second Problem Solving of the term and then we will begin Chapter 7 on Exponents and Exponential Functions.
There are two weeks left in the First Term. You should be checking with me about any work that needs to be made up before the end of next week. I wll be available after school this week on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Also please see me to take advantage of Math Lab this week.

We have a shotened week because of the holiday and the PSAT test. Tuesday we will go over the word problems from last week and begin a review of Chapter 3. Thursday we will go over the review homework and we will test on Friday. Next week we begin Chapter 4 on Matrices.

We continue our work this week with systems of equations by doing some word problems on both Tuesday and Thursday. Our quiz will be Friday as usual.

We continue our work in Chapter 3 this week, finishing up Linear Programming with some word problems. From there we will go to Section 3-5, Systems of Equations with 3 variables. Also included in this section will be some word problems. A quiz is scheduled for either Friday or early next week.

We continue our work with Systems of Equations, wrapping up Substitution and spending most of the week on Elimination. We will cover Elimination by Addition and by Multiplication. Our weekly quiz is still on Friday.
