WEEK OF SEPT. 26-30
ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
We start the week off with a quiz on Sect. 2-1 to 2-4. Then we will cover Sect. 2-6, Special Functions. Concepts such as greatest integer function, absolute value functions, and piecewise functions will be introduced. These are true Algebra 2 ideas that you probably have not seen before. Wednesday is a half day and we will work on problem solving using the scoring rubric. From there we will work on graphing inequalities and finish off the chapter. Expect a Chapter Test early next week.
ALGEBRA 1A CP2
This week we will work on subtracting, multiplying, and dividing integers. Wednesday we will work on problem solving using the scoring rubric. You may use yuor practice sheet from last week as a guide. Thursday will find us reviewing Chapter 2 for a Test on Friday.
ALGEBRA 1 CP1
Last week I introduced the idea of square roots and we will continue this work this week. The concepts of the Pythagorean Theorem and the Distance Formula will be covered as applications of radicals. We will have a quiz next week on radicals and then have a Chapter 2 Test. Also on Wednesday we will be doing problem solving that I covered last Friday.
GEOMETRY HONORS
On Monday we will practice doing problem solving using a scoring rubric. Most of you did this last year and should not have many problems. We will do one for real on Wednesday, the half day. Then we will begin Chapter 2 on Reasoning and Proof. This is the beginning your work with Logic, which tends to give some people trouble. We will learn what Inductive Reasoning is and how to write truth tables.
On Friday you will receive progress reports. All Yellow team teachers will give you a report. This just to let you know how you are doing so far this term and if there is any reason for concern.
