ALGEBRA 2 CP1
We continue our work in Section 9-1, Multiplying and Dividing Rational Expressions. Then we will cover 9-2 , Addition and Subtraction of Rational Expressions. I hope to end the week with a quiz on this material so that when we return from vacation I can cover Section 9-6 and then be able to review for the Midterm Exam.

We continue our work in Chapter 8 by covering Sections 8-4 and 8-5 this week in order to have one more quiz before vacation ( probably Thursday). When we return from vacation I plan to finish off the chapter so that we can spend some time reviewing for the Midterm Exam.
GEOMETRY HONORS
We will begin Chapter 6 this week, hopefully covering the first three sections. The chapter covers the concept of Similarity and solving proportions. I am planning a quiz for the end of the week.

My plan is to cover Section 7-3 on Rational Exponents and then go to Chapter 8 on polynomials. I am hoping to cover at least Section 8-1 before our weekly quiz on Friday.

WEEK OF SEPT. 15-19
ALGEBRA 2 CP1
This week we will begin Chapter 2 on Relations and Functions. Concepts such as Domain, Range, Function Notation, Equations of Lines in Standard Form, and Slope will be covered in detail. I am planning a quiz for either the end of the week or the beginning of the next depending on how far I get in the curriculum.
ALGEBRA 1 CP1
The week will be spent reviewing Chapter 3. Concepts I will cover include slope, equations in Standard Form, x and y intercepts, and graphing equations in Standard Form. I plan to give a quiz at the end of the week (Friday).
GEOMETRY HONORS
We begin the week reviewing Sections 1-1 through 1-3 for a quiz Tuesday. Then I will cover Sections 4, 5, and 6, which will finish the Chapter. Expect a Chapter Test next week either on Tuesday or Wednesday.

We do not meet as class until Wednesday because of MCAS. When we do finally meet I will cover Compound and Continuous Interest and then Section 7-8 on Inverses of Functions. From this point on we will review for your Final Exam.

We continue our review this week by covering Roots of Functions in which you solve a Quadratic Equation that is equal to zero. Then we will go over graphing Absolute Value Equations. Our weekly quiz is still Friday.

We will be spending the week reviewing for your Final. I have scheduled a Review Quiz for Wednesday.

This week is broken up by MCAS testing Tuesday and Wednesday but I plan to continue Section 10-3 on the properties of Logs. I plan a review on Thursday and a quiz Friday on Sections 10-1 thru 10-3.

We continue our review of Factoring this week by covering the difference of two squares and Factoring Completely. Our quiz Friday will probably cover all types of Factoring, including the material we learned last week. Remember that because of MCAS Tuesday and Wednesday our class will move to Room 28 for these days.
GEOMETRY HONORS
Our week begins with a Chapter 11 Test. From there I will combine Chapters 12 &13 together. These chapters deal will Solids and we will be solving for the Lateral Area, Surface Area, and Volumes of such shapes as prisms, cylinders, pyramids, cones, and spheres. I ahve a quiz scheduled for Friday on Prisms and Cylinders.

We begin the week by finishing the review sheet I passed out before vacation on Sections 8-6 & 8-7. We will have a quiz Tuesday. Then we will start Chapter 10 on Logarithms. I am planning to cover Sections 10-1 & 10-2 by Friday.

This week we will do a unit on Probability. We will have our weekly quiz Friday. From there we will go back and I will reteach the concept of Factoring, since there are several problems on your Final.

ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
This week we are finishing Chapter 8 on Conics. Section 8-6 deals with identifying conic sections by either putting them into standard form or using a table from the text to determine the conic. Section 8-7 solves Quadratic Systems either by graphing or by the use of Algebra. Since the week is only 4 days I will probably not be able to squeeze in a quiz, so we will have one right after the break.

This week we begin a unit on Radicals. We will learn how to simplify, add, and subtract Radicals this week. Our weekly quiz is Friday. Just a reminder that because of MCAS our classes Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday will be moved to Room 28 in the Science wing. It's still school as normal for you.

The week begins with Section 8-6, Trapezoids. These are the only quadrilaterals that are not parallelograms. We will review Tuesday for a quiz Wednesday on Section 8-4 to 8-6. Then we are finished with the chapter so I will review Thursday for a Chapter 8 Test on Friday or possibly next Monday.

Last week we worked for two days on the Pythagorean Theorem. Monday will find us reviewing for a quiz Tuesday. From there we will go to Chapter 12 to cover mean, median, mode, and range, with a chance of covering Standard Deviation.

This week we begin a unit on Radicals. We will learn how to simplify, add, and subtract Radicals this week. Our weekly quiz is Friday. Just a reminder that because of MCAS our classes Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday will be moved to Room 28 in the Science wing. It's still school as normal for you.
GEOMETRY HONORS
The week begins with Section 8-6, Trapezoids. These are the only quadrilaterals that are not parallelograms. We will review Tuesday for a quiz Wednesday on Section 8-4 to 8-6. Then we are finished with the chapter so I will review Thursday for a Chapter 8 Test on Friday or possibly next Monday.

Last week we worked for two days on the Pythagorean Theorem. Monday will find us reviewing for a quiz Tuesday. From there we will go to Chapter 12 to cover mean, median, mode, and range, with a chance of covering Standard Deviation.

ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
The week starts off with a review of Sections 9-3 to 9-5. A quiz is scheduled for Tuesday. Then we begin Chapter 8 on Conics. Section 8-1 should be familiar to you. It deals with Midpoint and Distance Formulas. I will the skip to Section 8-3 and cover Circles for two days. The next quiz will be on or about next Tuesday.

This week I will finish Section 9-7 that I began last week. We will cover the concepts of Step Functions and Piecewise Functions and their graphs. Our weekly quiz will be Friday.

WEEK OF MARCH 3-7
ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
We start the week off with a quiz on Sections 7-9, 2-6, and 2-7. From there we will return to Chapter 9 and cover Sections 9-3 to 9-5. In these sections you will learn how to graph Rational Functions and you will be introduced to the asymptote. Section 9-4 deals with direct, inverse, and joint variation, and 9-5 wraps up uor function work with reviewing the different classes of functions. A quiz is scheduled for next Tuesday March 11, if all goes well.

We finish our work this week with the Quadratic Formula by discussing the Discriminant and the types of solutions you will get when you use the Quadratic Formula. Then I will spend the next few days on special types of functions, Absolute Value, Step Functions, and Piecewise Functions. Our weekly quiz is still Friday.

We will also work on the four operations with radicals, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. Hopefully we will be able to take a quiz on some of the material by Friday. If not, I can move it to next week.

WEEK OF FEB. 2-7
ALGEBRA 2 HONORS
We begin the week reviewing for a quiz Tuesday on Sections 6-4,6-6, and 6-6. These are on Completing the Square, parabolas in vertex form , and Graphing and Solving Quadratic Inequalities. From there we will go to Chapter 7 on Polynomial Functions and their graphs.

We are continuing Section 9-1 Monday by graphing some Quadratic Funtions. You learned last week the formula x= -b/2a and we will continue to use this during the week. Then we will go to Section 9-2, Solving Quadratic Functions by graphing. Our weekly quiz will be Friday.

We learn about Special Right Triangles such as the 45-45-90 and the 30-60-90 and will fill out a Graphic Organizer in class Monday which you can use during the week. A quiz is scheduled for Friday. You will also be taking a DDM test Tuesday in class.

Tuesday will find you taking a DDM test in class and then we will go to 9-3 on Transformations of Quadratic Functions in which you will compare and contrast two functions based on the same equation. I will be offering after school sessions every day this week except for Thursday to help prepare for the Midterm Exam. Please bring the Review Packety with when you come.
